Adelaide RPL: Qualifications for the Local Workforce

Adelaide is home to thriving industries, from the Osborne shipyard to frontline services to military personnel. The project-management or safety work you’re already doing on-site can convert into a nationally recognised qualification through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). We assess the evidence from your current role and turn it into a credential you can use for your next promotion (or to switch careers).

RPL for Adelaide workers

Adelaide workers in many sectors progress their careers through experience rather than tangible qualifications. So what happens when you get to a leadership position, want to change careers or go for a promotion, and have no recognised qualification behind you?

Let’s say you work in an Osborne shipyard and a more senior role has opened up in the new AUKUS-class submarine construction yard. Through RPL in Adelaide, we assess your career experience and grant you recognised qualifications that match, without you having to study. You can get your project delivery, safety, budgeting, risk management, and trade experience recognised, with no exams or coursework.

You submit evidence from your actual role, including position descriptions, project records, and employer references, and our assessors map it against the qualification you need. RPL is ideal for anyone in Adelaide seeking new employment, a career change, or a promotion.

How RPL helps you change careers and get promoted in Adelaide

If you’re a tradesperson, supervisor, healthcare worker, first responder, HR professional, or project coordinator in Adelaide or the wider South Australia, you’re likely already taking on project delivery or safety responsibilities without a formal certificate or diploma attached. RPL turns that gap into a qualification.

We weigh your on-the-job evidence against a nationally recognised Diploma of Project Management or Advanced Diploma of Work Health and Safety (just two examples, we assess which qualification best suits your goals), so you can apply for the named role your experience already covers. Our RPL is quick at a max of 14 days (or you get a full refund), so you have a qualification in hand before the next round of promotions comes.

Still have questions?

Our team is here to help. Get in touch and we will answer any questions you have about RPL.

I work at the Osborne shipyard. Can shipbuilding or defence-industry experience count as RPL evidence?

Yes. Churchill assesses evidence from your actual role on the Osborne build, including position descriptions, project records, safety documentation, and references from your supervisor or employer, against the qualification you’re applying for. It doesn’t matter whether your title is trade, supervisory, or project-based; what counts is the responsibility you’re already carrying on-site.

Yes. It makes no difference whether your payslip comes from the head contractor or a subcontractor delivering work on the build. Churchill looks at the work itself, including project records, safety responsibilities, and references from your subcontract employer, to assess what you’ve actually carried on-site.

Yes. If you’re managing risk, compliance, or safety processes on-site without the paperwork to match, Churchill can assess that experience against the Advanced Diploma of Work Health and Safety. You provide evidence of the responsibilities you already hold, and an assessor maps it against the qualification’s requirements.

Churchill’s standard turnaround is 7-14 days from the time your evidence is submitted, with a 7-day fast-track available for an additional $350 if a promotion timeline is tight. The whole process runs by phone, email, and document upload, so you don’t need to attend an office to get it done.

It can, if the work itself involves coordinating schedules, subcontractors, or delivery milestones rather than trade tasks alone. Churchill’s assessors review your evidence against the Diploma of Project Management’s requirements and will tell you upfront whether your current experience is enough or where a gap sits.
