BSB50415 Diploma of Business Administration was superseded (or replaced) in October 2020 when across Australia the Business Services qualifications were updated.
The review looked at 7 existing business-related Diplomas, including the Diploma of Business Administration, and wrapped them into the new BSB50120 Diploma of Business with 9 specialisations available for the first time to Australians.
It means you will no longer find a current qualification under the title of Diploma of Business Administration.
So, what qualification now captures that business administration focus?
The BSB50215 Diploma of Business has a specialisation available of Diploma of Business (Operations) that can address a higher level of business administration experience.
The newest version of the qualification balances transferrable skills and knowledge that can move readily in business and then brings in the technical skills and knowledge that can relate specifically to business administration.
Under this newest qualification, the Diploma of Business (Operations) there are 5 core units which are mandatory for every student completing the qualification. When you look at the core units you can see that these key competencies are valued in workplaces across the country:
From there, the elective units of competency can be chosen from the specialty list to reflect your operational responsibilities, skills and knowledge that specialise in the administration of an organisation.
For example, these specialty units focus on your oversight and administration strengths:
So, whilst the Diploma of Business Administration may have been changed, the changes have left open a path for a specialist qualification that still captures key elements of your administration experience.
Your BSB50415 Diploma of Business Administration is still recognised as a valid qualification. In fact, people can complete their studies in this qualification until 2022.
The older version of this qualification still attests to the level of skills and knowledge that you held to graduate successfully with Diploma of Business Administration.
The Diploma of Business has simply been updated so there is now an updated version that can be accessed to capture and develop your administration focused skills and knowledge in the Diploma of Business (Operations).
You can read about the latest version here: BSB50120 Diploma of Business (Operations).
